Kamoru Ibitoye Yusuf, MON (born October 16, 1968) is a Nigerian industrialist, best known for producing steel, iron and building items. He is also the Chairman, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Kwara/Kogi Branch; Chairman, Manufacturers of Basic Metal, Iron, Steel & Fabricated.

Yusuf is the founder of KAM Holdings, which specializes in the manufacturing of Iron and Steel products.

He was conferred with Honorary Doctorate Degree of Business Management (Honoris Causa) by the University of Calabar, Cross River state at the 34th convocation ceremonies held in March 2021; as well with Honorary Doctorate Degree by the Osun State University.

Early life and career

Shortly after the completion of his education, Kamoru Yusuf began the art of learning how to trade in metals and metal derivatives with J.O. Oladimeji & sons.

He completed his apprenticeship, within a period of 10 years and thereafter ventured into becoming a foremost distributor to notable companies in the wire and steel industry in Nigeria.

Some of the companies are: Oshogbo Steel Rolling Mill, Oscar James Nigeria Limited, Nigeria Wire Industry, Lagos, Adediran Steel & Wire Industry, Ilesa, Ola-Oluwa Aina Wire Industry, Oshogbo, United Wire Industry, Kaduna and Sanusi Brothers, Ibadan and many more. He finally became a manufacturer in the Iron, Steel and Allied Products in 1997 with 100 percent ownership.

He is the first Nigerian to establish a manufacturing company in the South East Region of the People’s Republic of China in 2008 which eventually led to hoisting of the highly respected Nigeria’s National Flag therein.

Landmark achievements

Kamoru is the first Nigerian manufacturer to successfully produce corrugated roofing sheets and galvanised roofing nails in West Africa as well as the first African to build the largest integrated Cold Roll Mill Complex in Nigeria.

His Long Products manufacturing plants have the highest capacity to produce liquid steel in Nigeria and the brand name KAMWIRE is well known throughout Nigeria Wire and Steel Industry.

The brand has won many NIS, SON CAP, IQNET and MANCAP awards for quality from the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) and his companies is the largest employers of labour in Kwara State and in the steel sector across Nigeria.

Kamoru Yusuf has business presence in about six locations across Kwara State, Kakuri in Kaduna State, Ogwashi-Ukwu in Delta State, Sokoto State, Kirikiri, Abule-Oshun, and Victoria Island Areas in Lagos state, Igbafa village, Sagamu Area of Ogun State, Warri in Delta State, Oron in Akwa Ibom State, Ayetoro in Ogun State, Wuxi and Suzhou in Republic of China and in Mumbai in the Republic of India.

Social Interventions

Kamoru Yusuf has contributed immensely to the development of education through his regularly Endowment Funds to tertiary institutions, electrification and provision of potable water to rural communities.

He donated generously to fight against COVID-19 pandemic through the federal and State governments Federal and State Governments' Scheme as well as supports for victims of natural disasters to mention but few.
